This is my new brace. I’ve worn it a week now. I’ve been doing lots of wrist exercises to get my wrist to unlock and bend in all directions, every hour or two. I’ve gone back to work and I drive there. I knew this was going to be tough, and it really, really is.
It’s hard to feel like there’s enough time in the day, you know? I still worry that it’s not moving along fast enough, even though Brian and Jason both tell me that it is. Brian molded me yesterday for a new torture device (lol) that will bend my wrist back with wire and a thing that looks just like the tuning pegs on a guitar. I don’t have this new thing yet, but I can’t wait to show you the photos.
In the meantime, I’ll keep working my wrist AND my thumb, and then icing it afterwards as often as I can. I’ll keep making notes of ideas for recipe blog posts. I’ll keep teaching school for now.
I’m also ready to get going a little harder on the fitness. I’ve been doing pistols off the coffee table, sit-ups, air squats, and as much walking as I can get into my days. I’m starting to feel like myself again. Next goal is to get back to Crossfit Countdown – I know they’ll modify for me.
