I have a couple of recipes on the Feeding Ger Sasser blogspot blog for big slabs of salmon and they are all delicious. This one’s better than ever, and you really can’t go wrong with this superfood – vitamins, minerals, protein, omega 3’s. Go for wild caught, too.
I love steamed salmon, too. Have you had it at PF Changs? It’s delicious… but it’s not so expensive when you make it at home, AND it’s easy. So, try this one soon and you’ll see what I mean.
I moved an oven rack to the bottom of my oven and placed a glass baking dish filled half-way with water on the bottom rack. (slow, moist heat, right?)
I heated the oven to 275 degrees.
I covered a huge baking sheet with foil and rubbed coconut oil on it. Then I placed the big slab of salmon on there, Mine was just over 3 lbs.
I brushed it with olive oil .
I added:
smoked sea salt,
freshly ground black pepper
garlic powder
paprika
basil
I put it in a 275 degree oven for 40 minutes.
It was perfectly steamed and and oh so tender and flavorful. You can do this same recipe with little salmon fillets, of course, if you’d rather.
